Amazingly this thing started and ran when we first looked at it. Even more amazing was plume of smoke followed a hint of old petrol. It was the original 16 year old fuel!!!!
This car must have been one of the first Mk3 models to come off the line as the colour and interior are from the Mk2.
You can also see from the pictures that the wing mirrors are mounted on the front wing. This normally only came with the De Luxe model so some more research needed here.
The car needs a lot of body work repairs. There are a number of visible (badly done) repairs already to the boot skin, both sills, inside the arches and more.
It also appears that one of the more recent repairs was to the rear subframe. Don't know is if has been replaces but the car has been completely under sealed. Will need a closer inspection to see the quality of the work.
The first thing that will happen to the car is a full respray in Mk2 Tartan Red with the roof in Old English White.
