Mini 4 - 1976 Leyland 850 in White
Finally we have Mini number 4. The cool little 1976 850 dinky car in Cool Leyland White.
The car is pretty original thankfully and the interior looks in great condition.
The car only has 33,000 miles and seems to have been quite well looked after. The shell is in very good condition and panels seem to be good.
However it seems that neglect in the recent years has left a leak in the front of the car and water to sit under the front rubber carpets. Unfortunately this has lead to the Inner part of the sills to rust through on both sides. Nothing structural so not to bad.
The condition of the sale is that the car will have all of it's major issues resolved mechanically and body. This will involve repairing the sills, door and a couple of spots on the front wings before respraying them. Hopefully the paint will be fairly easy to match so will just require the specific panels painted.
There are also some mechanical problems that have been left unattended for some time. Apparently the previous owner had been driving around with a number of screws missing from the gear lever fixings. Like stirring porridge. Fixed with a couple of new bolts. Otherwise the exhaust leaks from the manifold joint and the Engine Mounts are shot.
Otherwise the engine just needs a good clean up.
